Alan Goehring

Alan Goehring, from Henderson, Nevada, is a former junk bond trader and analyst. Coming from such a high-octane field of work, poker seems to suit him well. He became a professional poker player at the age of 37.

While Goehring has yet to take home a World Series of Poker bracelet, he finished second in the 1999 main event. He has, however, taken first place in two World Poker Tour events, most recently the L.A. Poker Classic at the Commerce Casino.

While not necessarily a poker superstar, Goehring doesn't seem to seek fame and fortune. Unlike most players, Alan says he's in it for the fun of the game, not for the money. With the positive attitude and the skill he possesses, it's hard to imagine Goehring disappearing any time soon.
