Erica SchoenbergIt's certainly no surprise I ended up becoming a professional poker player. Whether it was nature or nurture, I'm not sure, however, no one in my family was shocked when I began a career in cards. I think my life path was influenced before I was actually even born, since my folks met at the Santa Anita racetrack in California. Fast forward about a decade or so, and you could find me playing bridge or rummy with my Parents and Grandparents. Then if you skip a bit further into the future, one could note my victory at the 1991 county math championship. Basically, during my formative years, I honed many of the necessary skills to succeed in gaming, all the while unbeknownst to me. I believe these phases in my life were just preparing me for the fateful day in which I would meet some of the original members of the MIT blackjack team. It was then that I was further introduced to someone who taught me how to count cards, which ultimately changed my life forever. To make a long story short, one thing led to another and another and so on, until I ended up finding poker. It was about three years ago that I plunged headfirst into this crazy world of professional poker, and I'm still pretty amazed by all that's happened! To date, I've won over $600,000 in tournaments and I'm a sponsored player by Full Tilt Poker. Every day I pinch myself to make sure this isn't some wild dream. Nope, this really is my life, and I'll share some more details in my blog. Check it out!”
