Main Event (Final) Thu, Jan 29 at 5:00 PM Barry Greenstein won the 5th Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open Championship Event at the Goldstrike Casino in Tunica, MS today with an impressive display of high level poker. Barry won $1,278,370 after beating a world class field and eventually beating Randy Jensen into 2nd place. Randy took home $656,460.

Wed, Jan 28 at 12:00 PM Main Event (Day 3) Randy Jensen, the chip leader after day 1, got back into the lead today and goes into tomorrows final table of 6 players at the 5th Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open as chip leader with $1,085,000 in chips. Tomorrows winner will take home $1,278,370 aswell as the title of WPO Champion 2004. Chip Reese is back in third spot with $780,000.

Main Event (Day 2) Tue, Jan 27 at 12:00 PM David Pham leads after day 2 at the World Poker Open. He has $428,000 after winning the last pot of the night , knocking out Erik Seidel on the bubble. In the final pot of the night Erik raised it to $13,000 on the button. David re-raised him another $40,000 in the small blind. Erik thought for 4 or 5 minutes then pushed all in for $80,000 and David called. Erik had A,Q and David 2 queens. No help for Erik and he was out.

Event #20 No limit Hold 'Em Main Event (Day 1 of 4) Mon, Jan 26 at 12:00 PM Randy Jensen took a commanding lead in the WPO at the end of day one ($132,800). His nearest rival has less than $100,000. The 5th Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open smashed the WPT record , when 367 players started out at noon today. Play re-commences tomorrow at noon. This years winner will receive over $1.2M on Thursday night.

Event #19 Limit Hold 'Em Sun, Jan 25 at 12:00 PM Vassilios Maniotis from Greece won event #19 ($300 buyin Limit Holdem with rebuys) at the World Poker Open in the early hours of this morning. He won $69,925 and a WPO gold bracelet. Today the Championship event starts ($10,000 buyin No Limit Holdem) and a prize pool well in excess of $3,000,000 is expected.

Event #18 Limit Hold'em Sat, Jan 24 at 12:00 PM Raja Kattamuri from Dallas, TX won tonights event #18 ($2,000 buyin Limit Holdem) at the World Poker Open in Tunica Mississippi. Raja won $127,016 and a coveted WPO gold bracelet.

Event #17 No Limit Hold 'Em Fri, Jan 23 at 12:00 PM Mike Pugliese from Lincroft N.J , won another record breaking event tonight at the 5th Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica MS. Mike won the $2,000 buyin No Limit Holdem event and took home $211,485 together with a coveted WPO gold bracelet.

Event #16 Limit 7-Card Stud Thu, Jan 22 at 12:00 PM After a very long tussle heads up, Paul Testud from France beat Humberto Brenes in event #16 ($1,000 buyin 7 Card Stud). Paul won $30,862 and a coveted World Poker Open gold bracelet. A record field of over 300 players entered the $2,000 buyin No Limit Holdem today and the final will conclude tomorrow.

Event #15 Pot Limit Hold 'em Wed, Jan 21 at 12:00 PM Billy Duarte showed again at the World Poker Open why he is considered one of the best Pot Limit players in the game today. Billy won event #15 ($1,000 buyin Pot Limit Holdem) and took home $76,062. The final event is approaching and many of the worlds leading players are arriving in Tunica, Mississippi.

Event #11 Pot Limit Omaha Sun, Jan 18 at 12:00 PM Another amazing comeback in the World Poker Open today. Robert Willis was down to about $20,000 against almost half a million and came back and won event #11 ($1,000 buyin Pot Limit Omaha with rebuys). Robert won $150,726 and a WPO bracelet.

Event #10 Omaha Hi/Lo Sat, Jan 17 at 12:00 PM Steve Kaufman made an amazing comeback to win event #10 at the World Poker Open tonight ($1,000 buyin Omaha Hi/lo). Steve started the final table with only $8,500 in chips and when heads up began he was outchipped by 5 to 1. Steve won $48,733.

Event #9 Limit Hold 'Em Fri, Jan 16 at 12:00 PM After a 5 hour final table today, Habib Khanis from San Diego, CA won event #9 ($1,000 buyin Limit Holdem) at the World Poker Open in Tunica , MS. Habib beat 257 other top poker players to win first prize of $86,157 plus a coveted WPO gold bracelet.

Event #7 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo Wed, Jan 14 at 12:00 PM Peter Phillips from Atlantic City, NJ won his first WPO bracelet tonight after beating veteran pro Thor Hansen heads up at the end of the 7 card stud High-Low Split. Peter won event 7 after a 6 1/2 hour final table and pocketed $38,816.

Event #6 Pot Limit Hold 'em Tue, Jan 13 at 12:00 PM John Phan won his second event this year at the WPO in Tunica. Tonight he took down the $500 buyin Pot Limit Event and another $77,694. John is the 3rd player in WPO history to achieve this goal. He follows Scotty Nguyen and Can Kim Hua.

Event #5 7-Card Stud Mon, Jan 12 at 12:00 PM Can Kim Hua won his 2nd event at the 2004 WPO in Tunica, MS. After his Pot Limit Omaha win, Can Kim added the $500 Stud event today. For this win he took home $31,040 and another WPO gold bracelet.

Event #4 No Limit Hold 'Em Sun, Jan 11 at 12:00 PM Bob Mangino from New York beat a record field of 950 No Limit Holdem players to win event #4 at the 5th Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open tonight. Bob takes home his 1st WPO Gold Bracelet and $166,702.

Event #3 Omaha Hi/Lo Sat, Jan 10 at 12:00 PM Can Kim Hua from Rosemead , CA won event #3 at the 2004 WPO. 410 players started this Omaha Hi-Low Split event yesterday (Another WPO record) Can Kim took home a WPO gold bracelet and $69,798.
