Tournament Report
Glen Chorny is New European Poker Tour Grand Final Champion
In what has been described as the longest, biggest, and some of the best
poker the European Poker Tour (EPT) has seen, 22 year-old Ontario Canada
native Glen Chorny bested a field of 842 players to become the new
PokerStars.com European Poker Tour Grand Final champion, winning a record
first-place prize of 2,020,000 Euros (roughly USD $3.2 million, or GBP
1,613.6 million), the largest prize ever handed out at a European poker
tournament.
When the day began, no one was sure how it would turn out, as so many strong
players were present. Team PokerStars Pro Luca Pagano, at his third EPT
final table, was looking for his record ninth EPT cash. Antonio Esfandairi
was looking for an EPT title to accompany his WPT and WSOP wins to make an
astounding Triple Crown. And many bets were on tournament favorite Isaac
Baron to capture the title as well.
